What is home schooling?
Home Schooling is when the parent takes on the primary role as educators for their children. The parent determines the course of study and the means to achieve academic goals for each of their children. There are currently around 2 million children being home schooled in the United States, with an increase of about seven percent per year.
Why do families choose to home school?
As with any choice, there are a wide span of good options for your child's education and home schooling is simply one of them, that offers benefits and challenges like any other forms. Families are led to the idea of home schooling from a great variety of backgrounds and for a plethora of motivations. Wanting more time together as a family, flexibility of a home school schedule, ability to help the child excel in their strengths or teach their child skills they are found to be lacking are among a few reasons parents might choose this option.
